Discovering the Hong Kong Invasion

Every day, I take the bus to and from my college. Being the curious person that I am, I’ve always preferred looking around and seeing things as I travel, so every time I have the chance to, I try to get the very front seat on the upper deck of the bus where your vision can extend from the streets below to the skies above.

Around two weeks ago, I started noticing something new on the streets of Hong Kong. At first, I saw a light blue Pac-Man ghost made out of tiles stuck on a wall of an old building. Next, I saw some Space Invader art also made out of tiles on a footbridge. While these things did stand out to me, it never really occurred to me that it was a form of vandalism.

“Sleeping Dogs” PC Review: A great tribute to Hong Kong films that falls short on its storytelling

This review contains slight spoilers that are presented as vaguely as possible. If you don’t want to be spoiled, even slightly or vaguely, please proceed to another post.

Ever since Sleeping Dogs was released in 2012, I’ve always wanted to play it. Here we had a game completely set in Hong Kong – an extreme rarity in the genre – and as a person who was born and raised in that city, it felt wrong not to have this game in my collection. To top it off, the game was produced by United Front Games in conjunction with one of my favorite game companies of all time, Square Enix. I didn’t have the money or ability to purchase games when it first came out, but when I saw Sleeping Dogs for 4.99 during Steam’s recent autumn sale and had the money for it, I decided to take the plunge.

My Steam Trading Addiction

Readers, I have something to confess to you. I’ve been doing something that has started to come close to an addiction. Maybe that’s a little overdramatic but you see, in August 2013, I had issues with my pre-order of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I managed to purchase a code from Green Man Gaming which turned out to be unusable on my account which was of a different region and was not applicable for a refund. With no other options to turn to, I decided to join some buy/sell forums to somehow get the right region code. One thing lead to another and soon enough, I discovered something else.

Enter the wonderful world of Steam trading.
